Space separators in fractions

There is an interesting design decision for fractions (top of the screenshot vs. JuliaMono at the bottom) to make them look the numbers more distinct by removing some of the fraction slash from the most busy area - the middle, where the numbers and slashes combine.

(to compensate for the loss of slash visibility its slant could become slightly bigger to make the overall line longer?)

Maybe at smaller sizes it tastes better as the issue is more pronounced with full lines?
