We’re currently running a call for designers the Django Debug Toolbar logo and branding redesign, and it would be great to surface this opportunity directly in the documentation so it reaches contributors who regularly read the docs.
Context
There is an active GitHub discussion looking for designers to handle:
- Logo redesign (light/dark mode, multiple sizes)
- Color palette system
- Follow-up phases including website/docs refresh, UI improvements, and accessibility audit (WCAG 2.1 AA)

Proposed change
Add a short announcement or banner in the docs (for example on:
- the documentation homepage, or
- a Contributing / Community section
The announcement would:
- Briefly mention the design & branding redesign effort
- Invite designers (or design-inclined contributors) to apply
- Link to the GitHub discussion and application form
- Include the current deadline (January 10th, as extended)
