Specifying --out-dir as extra arg

I'd like to automatically add the --out-dir to any stack run or run --all commands.
I thought I could do that as;

  extra_arguments "output_plan" {
    commands  = ["plan"]
    arguments = ["--out-dir", local.terragrunt_dir]
  }

but then I'm hit with "flag provided but not defined: -out-dir" as it is seen as a Terraform argument.

I currently have it working as follows, but this feels cluttered.

  extra_arguments "output_plan" {
    commands = get_platform() == "windows" ? ["plan"] : []
    arguments = ["-out=${local.plan_file_name}"]
  }

  after_hook "copy_plan_windows" {
    commands = get_platform() == "windows" ? ["plan"] : []
    execute  = [
      "cmd",
      "/c",
      "move ${local.plan_file_name} ${local.terragrunt_dir}"
    ]
  }

Am I missing something here, or is this the way to go?
The out dir is dynamic (depends on the environment, my setup is á là /live/environments/<env>/terragrunt.stack.hcl), I'd like the plans as /live/environments/<env>/<pipeline>/tfplan.tfplan, so I can't statically set TG_OUT_DIR.

The extra_arguments block adds arguments to OpenTofu/Terraform, not Terragrunt.

If you want to always have the --out-dir flag set, you can have the environment variable TG_OUT_DIR set when you call Terragrunt.
