it is absolutely possible, if xwayland is used you can't remove those libraries because they are linked by other applications, many of which support X and wayland by linking to both libX11 and libwayland (or more likely: gtk and qt require both) you could only use xorg and you'd still have to have |

Wayland has been in development since 2008 (17 years), yet desktop application support and ecosystem maturity are still not fully complete. On Void Linux, are there any reports of HDMI monitor reactivation failures when using Wayland sessions — particularly with the labwc or sway compositors — after the display has been turned off for a few minutes and then turned back on? |

Is it possible to migrate a Void Linux installation that currently uses the X11 display server to Wayland while maintaining full compatibility with all applications?
The programs below are not removed.
$ sudo xbps-remove -R libX11 libXext libXrandr libXi libXcursor libXdamage libXfixes libXrender libXxf86vm
